Coeus Education

At Coeus, we believe in the power of collaboration and the wisdom of the crowd. Our application allows instructors to initiate a "live session" where students can join from their mobile devices or desktop computers. In this live session, students can anonymously ask questions in a dedicated forum. The questions are then visible to other students who can upvote the questions they want to see addressed or discussed.

Our system ensures that questions with the most upvotes rise to the top, enabling instructors and chat moderators to prioritize the topics and concerns that matter most to students. This collaborative approach fosters a supportive learning environment where questions are valued, and everyone benefits from shared knowledge. Importantly, Coeus does not include a "down vote" option because we firmly believe that there are no "bad questions" when it comes to learning. We want to eliminate any potential for discouragement and ensure that all questions are respected and considered valuable.

My Role

The creative mind behind the final design. My job was to create all responsive pages for the student, instructor, and admin accounts. Additionally, I designed and coded the marketing website for Coeus Education, where users would visit to learn more about the application and how to download it.

This was a month-long contract position, and a whole lot of fun!

    • Lots of Figma

    • GitHub - Coeus Repo

    • VS Code

    • User Research

  • Coding! I thought I was semi-proficient with coding before this project. I was wrong. After many (many) long hours working on the Coeus website and adding CSS to the application, I now feel actually proficient in coding. Definitely a learning curve.

  • One thing I learned from working in a very fast paced environment is how crucial it is to always have questions prepared. I also learned the importance of communication when working with developers and other team members. This not only keeps everyone on the same page, but allows for seamless work flow!

I also learned so much more than I even thought possible about GitHub. We were able to publish this application as an open source project, so it was really interesting to see how the community reacted to it.
